The World's First Hairdryer

I was vaguely watching someone have their hair dried recently when I got to wondering, "What would the first ever hairdryer have looked like?" Well here it is, my friends:




It was invented by a French hairdresser named Alexandre F. Godefroy sometime in the 1890's. What a clever chap. In case you have forgotten, or simply like to make the comparison right in front of your very eyes, here is an example of our modern-day equivalent:
